Ponciano L. Reyes, MD

Dr. Reyes studied at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science in Biology.   He also graduated Magna Cum Laude, Doctor of Medicine, Bene Meritus in Oral Revalida and was awarded the Gold Medal for Academic Excellence. He completed his residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, NY.   Dr. Reyes is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.  He is fluent in English, Tagalog and can converse in Spanish. He is affiliated with Vassar Brothers Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital where he actively participates in clinical research.  Dr. Reyes is the Co-Chairman of the Cancer Committee at St. Francis Hospital.

In 2007, he was nominated by St. Francis Hospital for Physician Excellence by demonstrating excellence in his medical practice and patient care and for exemplifying the hospital’s CREST of values. He is also the Chairman of Vassar Brothers Medical Center Oncology Quality Assurance Committee.  In 2006, he was awarded Physician of the Year for Internal Medicine by Vassar Brothers Medical Center in recognition of his commitment to quality patient care. In March, 2012, Dr. Reyes, received an award for Meritorious Service from Health Quest Oncology Services, Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
