Karen Seiter, MD

Completed her residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York and continued on to her fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Seiter is Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and is affiliated with Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, New York. Her academic responsibilities at those institutions include Director of the Adult Leukemia Service, Chair of the Oncology Committee for Protection of Human Subjects (Institutional Review Board), Associate Director of the Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship Program, and Member of the Oncology Leadership Council. She has also been involved in several safety initiatives as Chair of the Medication Use and Safety Committee at Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Seiter is a principal investigator on many clinical trials of new agents in acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and other hematologic disorders. She has published more than 100 articles on the results of these trials.

Outside of hematology, Dr. Seiter is a strong advocate for aerospace medicine and space exploration. She is on the Board of Directors of the Cradle of Aviation Museum, Garden City, New York, and is a member of several related societies.
